Hi, my name is PaoKong Thao.  Welcome to my e-folio site. 

I will be graduating from Concordia University in Decemember 2008 with two licensure, one in Art and the other in ESL.

In additon to the two license, I alos have a BA in Studio Arts from the  University of MN . 

This summer (2008) I am proud to be a scholar of the UESS program, where I had the opporuntity to teach at Como Sr High in the 8.5 program.  This was a valuable experience giving me insights into working with urban students and the chance to experience hands on classroom activities and classroom management. 

A little about myself.  I was born in Laos.  My family migrated to the United States when I was five.  I have four brothers and was raised in a single

mother household.  I have lived in Minnesota most of my life.  Although I love living here, I don't think I will ever really like the whether.   

Working with people empowers me to be a better person and it gives me great insights into who I am as a person.  That's probably why I am going into teaching.  My other passion is art.  To me art is like an unexplore universe where there is no limits; an unexplored arena where anything is a possbility depending how far you want to go. 

This is part of the reasons why I decided to seek a career in education.  I wanted to do something constructive for my community and myself.   Teaching just seems to be the right move.  I can teach about a subject matter that I am passoniate towards, while working with others.  I get the best of both worlds. 

My educational experience has helped to lift me to where I am today.  Through education, I hope to inspire others to achieve and believe.  I look forward to the challenge of teaching.
